Poor kid got a black eye on Friday and he wasn't even horsing around! We were leaving his class and he tripped on his way out the door when he went forward he fell onto a table, which he then ricocheted off of and fell onto the floor. I thought he had hit his forehead, but when he got up it was immediately obvious that the impact was just below his eye and when he fell on the floor, he hit the other side of his face. The result: It's now Monday and his eye has turned all shades from black to purple and green. It's finally fading though.
I think I'm getting a little better at handling his falls though. I didn't panic this time.
